WILD RIVER RIDERS SADDLE CLUB

Regular Meeting

January 24, 2010

 

The Meeting was called to order by President Brad Rapp at 7:06 p.m.

 

Members Present:  Brad Rapp, Salli and Kayla Schultz, Dawn Welsch, Bernadette Stromberg, Bruce, Piper and Lexi Schaapveld, Rick Wagner, Bets Kowarsch, Karl and Christine Schreck, Jack Boucher and Norma Anderson.

 

Secretary’s Report:  The minutes from the November 23, 2009 meeting were read.

Salli Schultz stated that there was one correction the Judge will also be paid for the Polk County Fair WSCA Show.

Motion was made by Karl Schreck, seconded by Rick Wagner to approve the Secretary’s Report as read.  Motion was carried.

Nick Szenay will be helping to make ribs for the Winter Party.

 

Treasurer’s Report: 

            Beginning Balance:                                                                $3,255.19       

            Ending Balance:                                                                     $2,378.24

 

Motion was made by Norma Anderson seconded by Karl Schreck to approve the Treasurer’s report and to pay all bills presented at the meeting for payment. 

Motion was carried.

 

Royalty Committee:  Chris Schreck stated that Tara Rafftery has ordered all of the gifts for the Royalty contestants and winners.

Salli Schultz stated that Kayla Schultz has been asked to be on the WSCA Royalty committee.

 

Parade Committee:  Bets Kowarsch read a Thank You letter that was received from the Taylors Falls Lighting Festival committee thanking our club for participating in the parade.

Karl Oscar Days parade will be on July 10, 2010.

 

Trail Committee:  Nothing at this time.

 

Show Committee: Christine Schreck had copies of the show bills at the meeting.  She will e-mail a copy to Brad, Rick and Norma.  Copies will be available on the web site.

Brad Rapp will update the web calendar.  

 

Old Business:  Brad Rapp read a summary of the January 4, 2010 Board meeting minutes.

Copies of 2010 Budget were handed out.  The 2010 Budget is $4,900.00.

Bets Kowarsch will be the seconded signature for the clubs checking account.

 

New Business:  Motion was made by Rick Wagner, seconded by Karl Schreck to make the following changes to the Club By-Laws and Rules:

1)      By-Laws: Article I, Section 3

From: The Principal office or place of business shall be the Town Hall, Almelund, Chisago County, Minnesota.

To: The Principal office or place of business shall be the Country Side Golf, Shafer, Chisago County, Minnesota.

2)      Rule 11:

From: You must sign up for trail rides.  Inviting members are responsible for their own guests.  Guests are not covered by WRRSC insurance.

To:  Remove rule.

 

Voting for the Motion will be suspended for 45 days (March 22, 2010 regular meeting date).

 

Dawn Welsch stated that the Minnesota North Star Paint Club will be having a Tack Swap on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion in North Branch, MN. 

 

Winter Party: Nothing new.

Adjournment:  Motion was made by Rick Wagner, seconded by Karl Schreck to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m.  Motion was carried.
